Experienced full time Veterinary Receptionist / Marketing Manager

The Mewes Vets Ltd is a multi-award winning veterinary clinic for pets.

Due to continuing growth, we are looking for an experienced veterinary receptionist / marketing manager, with social media skills to join our caring, friendly team.

The Mewes Vets is based in central Haywards Heath. We treat pets as friends, and endeavour to have the same vet see that pet on its every visit, allowing us a closer bond with our patients.

It is a full-time (40 hours per week) job, plus one in four Saturday mornings on Reception, split between two roles.

The marketing manager role would involve around 20 hours per week creating effective social media content, with lots of digital images, to continue presenting our positive branding to the local pet owners. You would also be planning and marketing outside events such as dog shows, our Christmas party, our calendar competition and attendance at other selected events, all aimed at driving new clients towards our clinic for their pets.

You would be expected to attend all these outside events, usually less than 10 per year. They usually occur on weekends or Bank Holidays. You receive appropriate time off in lieu for attendance.

You would be responsible for all forms of communication with current and potential clients.

The other 20 hours per week would be spent attending to our very busy reception. This involves multi-tasking between answering phone calls, managing clients’ arrival, taking payments and ensuring that new appointments are made, and medications correctly dispensed.

This work would be key to understanding who our best clients are, so that you can work to attract more like them.

We offer flexible working. All team members work at least one evening per week until 7.30pm, and one in four Saturday mornings.

You will receive 20 days paid holiday per year plus Bank Holidays.

This role would suit someone who is a team player and who is able to work in a busy environment. Experience of veterinary reception would be beneficial. An excellent telephone manner is essential. An enthusiasm for working with animals, digital photography and social media to include Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are vital. You would need to be able to self-motivate and reliably hit deadlines.

We will provide training to the right candidate, but those with previous experience in marketing and on a very busy reception will be considered first.

We have wonderful caring clients, and very high customer satisfaction which recently won us the accolade of being the BestVetsUK "Best in West Sussex 2021".

Other duties would include:

- Answering the telephone and dealing with client queries.

- Booking, cancelling, and changing appointments using our computerised practice management system.

- Welcoming clients onto the premises and weighing dogs.

- Processing and recording payments.

- Completing the end of day reconciliation procedures.

- Keeping client/patient records up to date.

- Ensuring the reception area is always kept clean and tidy.

- Dispensing veterinary medications.

- Posting on social media at least 3 times a week.

- Updating the clinic website.

- Managing all communications with our clients, via email, SMS text and post, including reminder calls to action, monthly newsletter etc.

- Managing the content of the television advertisements in Reception.

- Managing regular communications with leads / potential clients created at our outside events and by other means.

- Managing external signage, and the content and printing of all client education leaflets.

- Creating and maintaining local press contacts, and managing liaison with them, including filing content of Dr Mewes’ weekly column in the Mid Sussex Times, and other press releases.

- Management of clinic stationery, including leaflets for puppy, kitten and rabbit packs.

- Management of google adwords campaigns and facebook advertising.

- Management of analytics to monitor the success of our various campaigns over time.

If you would like to join our award winning team, email a covering letter along with your CV to enquiries@themewes.co.uk.
