We have a new vet
His name is Dr Nick Paleologo, and he is from Greece.
We are extremely lucky to have found such a lovely man to join our very special team. It will mean that we will soon be able to offer significantly more appointments per week, pandemic permitting. He will join our established team of vets consisting of myself, Jean, Mialee, and Ali.
Our part-time vet, Angie, is still having to shield for her own health. She will be returning when the pandemic allows.
Nick trained in the Czech Republic for six years, where the studies are conducted in English. Since qualifying, he has spent three years working in the UK, the latter two years locally in Seaford.
Nick has the same philosophy as myself, believing in the importance of developing long term relationships with pet owners and their pets.
Nick is particularly excited to join a team where being able to see the same patient himself, whenever that patient needs his care is positively encouraged. Our one-pet-one-vet policy is very unusual in our profession, but remains central to all that we do at The Mewes Vets.
He has already developed a special interest in feline medicine, having been mentored by a colleague with the same post-graduate qualifications that our vet, Jean, holds. He is co-owned by three beautiful cats.
He is keen on dental care, and is already experienced in all GP vet skills. He is planning to advance his own post graduate skills by studying for a similar certificate to the one that I hold, in veterinary imaging. This will help him to specialise in the use of our ultrasound and x-ray diagnostic equipment.
We just need to teach him where everything is in the building, and how to use our computer system. He already has the high level of communication skills I expect of all my team.
When off duty, he loves traveling and interacting with new people and cultures. He also enjoys painting, reading, walks in the countryside, listening to music, and is a fan of martial arts.
