We are delighted to welcome some new staff onto the friendly team at The Mewes Vets.
Pictured is our new vet, Sarah Reed MRCVS.
Having qualified fifteen years ago, she is very experienced.
She says: “Over the last few years I have developed an increasing interest and
understanding of behavioural problems in my patients which has become even more
important since Covid.
I enjoy nurturing relationships with my clients and patients.
I have three cats myself that were rehomed from the Cats Protection. I try to treat my clients
how I would like to be treated, if I had to take my cats into a practice myself.”
Sarah will soon complete an ISFM Advanced Feline Behaviour certificate, and has a keen
interest in rabbits and small furries.
We are also pleased to be joined by Registered Veterinary Nurse Abigail Beardshaw.
She qualified via Plumpton College, and has extensive experience working at the PDSA in
Brighton. She is owned by feline, Floki, a beautiful cat, who occasionally allows her to walk
her friends’ dogs. We are not sure how she also finds time for her hobbies, which include
rock climbing, bouldering, hiking and foraging, and crafting.
To support these new team members we have also been joined in reception by two new
colleagues over the last four months.
Katy Rolfe formerly ran her own very successful dog grooming business. And Natalie
Stepton-Allan joined us after working for the Cats Protection, then the Kit Wilson Trust,
followed by three years at a very busy kennels.
Despite the increasing numbers of team members at the clinic, we remain passionate about
our one-pet-one-vet policy. So don’t hesitate to let our reception team know which of our
lovely vets you prefer to book your appointment with.
