Last call for pet photo competition entries!
We have had some wonderful entries for our pet photo competition already this year. The competition closes tomorrow at noon. So if you have not yet entered – do it now!
Our pet calendar 2021 will be packed with the prize winners, and sold in aid of the national charity Pets as Therapy.
It is free to enter. Simply email your favourite portrait of your pet to mewescompetition@gmail.com by 16th October at 12 noon.
We love themed photos such as spooky ones for October, festive ones for December, snowy ones for January. You might catch the eye of our judge this year, Councillor Alastair McPherson, Mayor of Haywards Heath with a picture of your pets doing something funny or cute.
We would like to thank our wonderful sponsors Virbac, Royal Canin, Hills and Protexin. There will be prizes for the winning entries – one for each month of 2021, and an overall winner, who will feature as the calendar cover supermodel!
We are hoping to reveal the winners at our Christmas party on 5th December (Covid-19 permitting) but we will let you know as soon as we can how we plan to do this.
As the weather gets colder we are feeling more and more guilty about preventing clients accompanying their pets inside. We really appreciate the trust that you are all showing in allowing this brief separation.
Our goal is to follow guidelines to keep both our customers and our staff safe from COVID19.
Unfortunately all our rooms inside the Clinic are too small to offer appropriate social distancing. Our staff see a different member of the public every 15 minutes, any one of which might be a symptomless COVID carrier. Once we cuddle into a pet, we are too close for even face coverings to really protect us.
For the foreseeable future, we propose to continue to interact with the pets our patients inside, but their owners outside, where the risk is much lower.
We strongly recommend that you bring warm clothing to your appointment, and waterproofs if the forecast suggests it! It gets remarkably nippy out there. I know, I am popping in and out twice every fifteen minutes!
It is cold and time consuming, but we are doing this for you – to keep you and your families as safe as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
